Picking on the president is too easy

Today, Our Fearless Leader said we’re not in a recession, we’re just in a slowdown.

Now he could have gotten away with that if he hadn’t emphasized that last quarter the economy grew.  Last quarter was a slowdown, Mr. Bush, with 0.6% real GDP growth.  If you are calling that growth and THIS a slowdown… You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Fairness time.  Part of the president’s job is being a cheerleader – to keep morale up.  But at a certain point… it’s like watching cheerleaders chant about winning when your team is behind by a LOT of scores with only a few minutes left in the game.  Phrased nicely, it’s called a non sequitur.
