Today, Our Fearless Leader said we’re not in a recession, we’re just in a slowdown.
Now he could have gotten away with that if he hadn’t emphasized that last quarter the economy grew. Last quarter was a slowdown, Mr. Bush, with 0.6% real GDP growth. If you are calling that growth and THIS a slowdown… You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Fairness time. Part of the president’s job is being a cheerleader – to keep morale up. But at a certain point… it’s like watching cheerleaders chant about winning when your team is behind by a LOT of scores with only a few minutes left in the game. Phrased nicely, it’s called a non sequitur.
