Going sideways to progress.

So as I confessed to a friend, besides the procrastination the other thing that was getting in the way of writing (yes, even at this early stage) is another book trying to get out. This one’s non-fiction. Cooking. Not a cookbook, a cooking book. You’ve read my blog posts on that stuff, you know what I’m talking about.

My wife, reading over my shoulder, says, “why not write both?” (“…you idiot” was in there too, I think.)

So I did. I cranked out the intro to the cooking book. And when it bogged, I jumped back to the fiction. and back, and forth. I only did about four hours of writing today, but got almost 5,000 words done between the two.
